Saudi Arabia’s government has underscored the critical importance of ensuring the Strait of Hormuz, Bab Al-Mandab, and other crucial maritime passages remain free, secure, and protected from threats, especially amid ongoing regional tensions. This emphasis came during a cabinet meeting led by King Salman in Jeddah, where ministers assessed both regional and international developments.
The cabinet reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at preventing further escalation and achieving enduring political resolutions. A key focus was on maintaining the freedom of maritime navigation, safeguarding essential shipping routes, and upholding the principles of state sovereignty and international law.
In addition to these discussions, the cabinet expressed its approval of the results from the inaugural Saudi-French Strategic Partnership Council. This council, which aims to enhance bilateral cooperation, resulted in agreements spanning various sectors such as defense, health, artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and investment.
The meeting highlighted Saudi Arabia’s proactive stance in addressing regional challenges while fostering international collaboration. The nation remains dedicated to diplomatic pathways and strategic partnerships that contribute to regional stability and economic growth.
