Pakistan Deploys Troops to Saudi Arabia for Territorial Defense Under New Pact

by admin477351

Pakistan has confirmed the deployment of its military personnel to Saudi Arabia as part of a joint defence effort to bolster the kingdom’s territorial security. This move comes under the auspices of a newly signed defence agreement involving Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye, aimed at enhancing regional security cooperation.

According to Sajjad Haider Khan, a spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, the deployment is specifically for defensive purposes and is not intended to support any cross-border military actions against Yemen’s Houthi forces. Instead, the Pakistani troops are stationed in Riyadh to help safeguard Saudi territory.

The Pakistani military has also verified that its forces are operating in Saudi Arabia across various operational capabilities under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. The agreement, signed on August 7, 2026, in Makkah, establishes a mutual defence framework among the three nations, whereby an armed attack against one member is considered an attack against all.

This pact signifies a commitment between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye to closer security collaboration in the region, reinforcing their collective defence strategies. Although the focus of this deployment is on defensive measures, the presence of Pakistani military forces in Saudi Arabia underscores the importance of the strategic alliance between these nations.
