During the 168th Ministerial Council meeting held in Bahrain, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) foreign ministers condemned the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the Kingdom’s right to self-defense. The ministers expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia, asserting that the security of the Kingdom is integral to the security of all GCC member states.

Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, criticized the attacks on civilians, airports, and civilian infrastructures, labeling them as violations of international law. GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi echoed this condemnation, noting that continued assaults on key infrastructures like airports and energy facilities pose a threat to regional security and stability. He urged the international community to take action against these attacks and hold the perpetrators accountable.

The meeting also addressed escalating regional tensions, developments in Yemen, and threats to freedom of navigation in critical waterways such as the Arabian Gulf, the Red Sea, and the Strait of Hormuz. Albudaiwi condemned Iranian attacks against GCC countries, emphasizing the importance of respecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Following the GCC meeting, ministers participated in the ninth joint ministerial meeting of the Gulf-Russia Strategic Dialogue. This session focused on strengthening cooperation and exchanging views on regional and international issues.
