Trade between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia has continued to grow steadily, reaching $6.6 billion last year, according to Indonesia’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdul Aziz Ahmad. He said bilateral trade has expanded by around 12 percent annually over the past five years, with significant potential remaining to further strengthen economic cooperation.
Indonesia exported goods worth $2.6 billion to Saudi Arabia, while imports from the Kingdom exceeded $4 billion. The ambassador highlighted Indonesia’s position as one of Asia’s most dynamic economies, supported by a population of more than 280 million people and a strong commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth.
Speaking at the Indonesian Trade and Cultural Promotion 2025 forum in Riyadh, he said the event aims to showcase Indonesia’s economic potential across multiple sectors, including food and beverages, construction, fashion, personal care, and strategic industries. Indonesian and Saudi companies are participating to explore new partnerships and expand market access.
The forum also features business presentations, product exhibitions, and cultural showcases, including fashion displays, traditional dances, music performances, and Indonesian cuisine. The initiative is intended to strengthen Indonesia’s presence in the Saudi market while promoting closer business and cultural ties between the two countries.
