As Saudi Arabia and France approach the centenary of their diplomatic relations in 2026, the two nations are strengthening their strategic partnership. According to French Ambassador Patrick Maisonnave, the relationship has seen substantial growth, particularly in areas that align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative. This burgeoning collaboration spans across various key sectors including culture, tourism, artificial intelligence, technology, energy, healthcare, defense, education, and urban development.
A standout example of this cooperation is the AlUla development project, which serves as a prominent symbol of the close ties between the two countries. Meanwhile, new ventures are emerging in digital innovation, entertainment, and esports, further underscoring the expanding partnership.
On the regional front, France and Saudi Arabia are actively working together on several critical issues. Their joint efforts extend to matters of Gulf security, ensuring freedom of navigation in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, supporting a two-state solution, stabilizing Lebanon, and reconstructing Syria.
Both nations have reiterated their dedication to diplomacy, international law, and pursuing political solutions as means to foster peace and stability in the region. This commitment highlights their shared vision of promoting security and prosperity through cooperative initiatives.
