Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, has called for increased international measures to ensure accountability for Israeli settlers involved in violent actions against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. During an interfaith dialogue held in Rome, Prince Faisal emphasized the necessity of halting these attacks immediately, cautioning that ongoing settlement expansion and violence jeopardize the feasibility of a two-state solution.
Prince Faisal expressed approval of the steps taken by several nations, which include imposing sanctions on individuals associated with serious human rights abuses, implementing travel restrictions, and banning imports from Israeli settlements. He stressed the importance of heightened accountability to safeguard Palestinian rights and foster a lasting peace.
The Saudi foreign minister reiterated the Kingdom’s stance against any alterations to the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and its sacred sites. He highlighted the crucial role of diplomacy and international cooperation in advancing a comprehensive peace process.
