by admin477351

Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet on Tuesday emphasized the critical need to uphold freedom of navigation in key regional waterways, including the Strait of Hormuz, Bab Al-Mandab Strait, the Red Sea, and the Gulf of Aden. The Cabinet urged a return to the conditions in the Strait of Hormuz as they were before February 28, advocating for the removal of fees and restrictions. It also firmly opposed the use of these essential waterways for applying pressure, issuing threats, or harming the interests of other nations.

Additionally, the Cabinet expressed approval of the United Nations Security Council’s recent condemnation of escalating Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, reflecting broader concerns about regional security. This discussion underscored Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to maintaining stability and security in the region.

On the Palestinian issue, the Cabinet reiterated its condemnation of actions affecting the status of Al-Aqsa Mosque. It reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s stance that lasting peace in the region hinges on the implementation of a two-state solution. This would include the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, emphasizing the kingdom’s dedication to a peaceful resolution.

The Cabinet also reviewed Saudi Arabia’s participation in the United Nations General Assembly, highlighting the importance the country places on international cooperation and multilateral initiatives. This participation reflects Saudi Arabia’s broader foreign policy goals of fostering global dialogue and collaboration on key international issues.
